The color yellow is by first impression, bright and sunny; a happy color that is not always easy to maintain in large portions. For those who love yellow, all the more reason for another pretty flower, a meadow to run through, or beach to stroll at sunrise or sunset, along with the feeling of sunshine on your skin, and any new sensation to experience. Although yellow is one of the three primary colors (with red and blue), it does not appear naturally on its own very much in solid form, but everywhere at once via sunshine; try to think of yellow things and what first comes to mind are usually flowers, corn, fire and the sun. Yellow is a high intensity color, an invisible blanket from the sun that cloaks each person in the wonderful tingling warmth of light, while it is also a high alert color used in warning signs to protect a person's safety. The duality and transparency of yellow requires mental understanding and discernment. And from here, the intellect is often associated with the color yellow, along with the peak of knowledge and inspiration, all of which represent the highest point of understanding and also joyous awareness. The essence of sunlight is a wonderful source of warmth and power, but it can also burn and blind you. When using yellow in design or interior home decor, it is often most attractive as an accent, but it is possible to use the color in larger amounts as a part of a monochromatic, analagous or complimentary scheme, keeping in mind the saturation and tone as a guide to maintaining a level of color that the eye can absorb with ease.
